![]() Do I have a bad ESC that should be returned to the seller? Am I not in jepardy of destroying a costly LiPo by running it below 3 volts per cell? Yes, when I decreased the load, the battery voltage came up over 6, but at 8 amps it was below and never shut off. Am I being naive to think the ESC should have shut down the motor when the 2S voltage dropped below 6 volts? It does have a jumper to select 2S or 3S operation. It comes with zero literature, but the ebay seller claimed it did low voltage shutdown. When the battery voltage dropped to 6 volts and then down to 5.89 volts, I was expecting the ESC to shut the motor down. I was running some tests with a 2S battery using a watt meter to monitor motor draw with various props and measuring resulting static thrust/RPM. I am concerned the ESC does not give me low voltage protection on my LiPo batteries. Holds up well (even dunked it in a lake more than once). Since then, I've been using it for the 820kV HK Donkey with a 4s 90c lipo, and the Grayson monster jet. ![]() I originally bought this ESC for use with a high kV heli motor. ![]() ![]() Because they were cheep, I bought some of the low cost out runners motors, tiny servos, and a Tower Pro 15 A ESC on eBay. I am still muddling my way through all this electric stuff. ![]()
